These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Athena application ("Athena" or "the App").
By installing or using Athena, you agree to these Terms.
1. What Athena Is
Athena is a privacy-first, calendar analysis application designed to help users understand scheduling patterns and the relative effort cost of meetings.
Athena provides informational insights only.
Athena does not:
- provide medical advice
- provide mental health advice
- provide professional, legal, or financial advice
- make decisions on your behalf
All decisions based on insights from Athena remain entirely your responsibility.
2. Early-Stage Software
Athena is an early-stage product and is provided "as is" and "as available."
You acknowledge and agree that:
- the App may contain bugs, inaccuracies, or incomplete features
- features may change, be added, or be removed at any time
- availability and functionality are not guaranteed
You use the App at your own discretion and risk.
3. Calendar Access
Athena integrates with third-party calendar providers using read-only access.
Supported providers may include, but are not limited to:
- Google Calendar
- Microsoft Outlook Calendar
Athena:
- reads calendar event timing and structure
- does not create, modify, delete, or write events
- does not alter your calendar in any way
You are responsible for ensuring that connecting your calendar complies with any applicable workplace, employer, or organizational policies.
4. Data Handling and Privacy
Athena is designed so that calendar data is processed entirely on your device.
Athena does not:
- upload calendar data to servers
- store calendar data on servers
- perform server-side inference on calendar data
- aggregate calendar data across users
Details about data handling are described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
5. No Guarantees
Athena makes no guarantees regarding:
- the accuracy or completeness of insights
- outcomes resulting from use of the App
- fitness for any particular purpose
Insights may be incorrect, incomplete, or not applicable to your situation.
You agree that you will not rely on Athena as the sole basis for decisions involving your health, career, or personal well-being.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Athena shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
- Athena is not responsible for decisions, actions, or outcomes influenced by information provided by the App.
If liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, it shall be limited to the minimum extent permitted.
7. Third-Party Services
Athena depends on third-party services to function, including calendar providers.
Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and policies. Athena does not control and is not responsible for the availability, behavior, or security of third-party services.
8. Termination and Discontinuation
You may stop using Athena at any time by uninstalling the App.
Athena may suspend, discontinue, or terminate the App or any feature at any time, with or without notice.
9. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time.
If changes are made, the "Last updated" date will be revised. Continued use of Athena after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable laws without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
